The Annual Uganda Tech Law Moot Court Competition is organized by the Center for Technology Disputes Resolution Uganda (CTDRU), other technology focused institutions and Cavendish University Law School as the Hosts.

This event is open to all students from across the Undergraduate Law courses in Ugandan Law Schools and will take place from 29th November 2023.

What exactly is a

Tech Law Moot

The Annual Uganda Tech Law Moot Court Competition is organized by the Center for Technology Disputes Resolution Uganda (CTDRU), other technology focused institutions and Cavendish University Law School.

The Moot Court Competition is open to all students from across the Undergraduate Law courses in Ugandan Law Schools. It highlights the importance of technology inclusion and how the rights of persons involved in technology can be protected through litigation.

The inaugural event will provide a platform for students to meet the judges and organizers of the court competition and learn more about consumer protection, digital rights, access to justice and technology inclusion.

The event will be held physically at Cavendish University Faculty of Law located along Acacia Avenue on Block 38, Bukoto Street, Kampala Uganda.

Aims of the Moot

The Annual Uganda Tech Law Moot Court Competition is organized by the Center for Technology Disputes Resolution Uganda (CTDRU), other Tech motivated institutions and Cavendish University Law School as the Hosts.

The Moot Court Competition aims to:

To promote awareness of technology as a tool for advancing the rights of persons.

To raise awareness on consumer protection, Data privacy and Protection and other digital rights.

It further seeks to showcase the advantages of including technology and the law.
